Born Jessica Mendiola Tawile, teen Filipina actress Jessy Mendiola first entered Philippine showbiz as a member of Star Magic Batch 15 under ABS-CBN. Jessy was born in the United Arab of Emirates on December 3, 1992 to a Filipina mother and a British-Lebanese father. Together with her sister, she studied in Our Lady of Mercy School in Quezon City from elementary to high school.

After playing lead roles in one episode in Maalaala Mo Kaya and another one in Wansapanataym, Jessy Mendiola played the role that would ultimately catapult her to stardom. Jessy played the title role in the ABS-CBN primetime television series "Sabel".
